We are a small type foundry, throwing some fun in functional fonts.

Fort began in 2013 as Mattox Shuler decided to finally try his hand at the daunting task of "making a font." Those first few feeble attempts led to a lifetime of love for all things type. Fort gets its name from the forts many of us built as kids. No matter the shape or size, they were places filled with creativity, fun, and adventure. We strive to bring a mix of playfulness and functionality in the fonts we release.

Building forts was always more fun with friends too. In 2018, Fort added Brian Brubaker to the team, and aside from Fort’s own internal releases, we love working with outside designers to bring their designs to fruition.
